The Great Erris Run 2026

The Great Erris Run takes place on Sunday, August 9, 2026 at Broadhaven Bay Hotel in Ballinavode, County Mayo, Ireland. A permit for the event has been approved, cert. no: 26/268.

Two distance options are offered for participants. The event is held in memory of a long-serving member of the local secondary school community who worked as a teacher, coach, and Special Needs Assistant since 1995 and who also had a successful career as a professional footballer, including wins in the FA Cup and UEFA Cup. This year the event’s donations will be directed to Erris Youth Disability Network (EYDN), an organisation focused on inclusive opportunities for young people with special needs in education, training, employment, and everyday life.

Online ticket sales are scheduled between May 1, 2026 and August 8, 2026. Ticket pricing listed for both distances is €30. The event description notes arrangements for tickets and a fundraising campaign associated with the run.
