Achill Half Marathon and 10K
The Achill Half Marathon and 10K take place annually on Achill Island, Co. Mayo, on the west coast of Ireland. The events use circular routes that start and finish in the village of Keel beside the Blue Flag beach. The half marathon distance is 13.1 miles / 21 km and there is also a 10K option.
- 21 km (13.1 miles) half marathon
- 10 km run
The course runs through coastal and island landscapes and includes hills and exposure to wind and rain at times. The event is held on the first Saturday of July; the 2026 edition is listed for 4 July 2026. Places are limited and recent editions have sold out well in advance, and registration for the 2026 event is full with a waiting list in place.
Organisers publish results and finish line video recordings from recent years. The event involves local volunteers and community organisations and lists a range of sponsors and partners in support roles. The tone from organisers in event communications emphasises the role of volunteers and community support in staging the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
