Achill Half Marathon & 10K
The Achill Half Marathon and 10K takes place on Achill Island, County Mayo on the west coast of Ireland and is scheduled for 4 July 2026. The event is held annually on the first Saturday of July. The course is a circular route that starts and finishes in the village of Keel beside the Blue Flag beach. Weather on the route can include hills, coastal winds and variable rain.
Distances:
- Half marathon 13.1 miles / 21 km, circular route starting and finishing in Keel.
- 10K run on the same circular route from Keel.
Race packs for entrants with addresses in the State were dispatched on Thursday 18 June. Entrants with addresses in Northern Ireland or overseas should collect race packs from Race HQ on Friday 3 July or before 10:00am on race morning. Due to roadworks on the N59 between Newport and Mulranny, entrants using that route are advised to allow an extra 30 minutes travel time.
Places are limited; the 2024 event sold out by February and registration opens 1 November. Results and finish line video material from recent years are published online via the event timing partner Pop Up Races. The event involves local organisations and volunteers, including race medical teams, Achill Tourism and Mayo County Council. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
