Achill Half Marathon & 10K
The Achill Half Marathon & 10K will take place on 4 July 2026 on Achill Island, Co. Mayo, on the west coast of Ireland. The event is held annually on the first Saturday of July and is based in the village of Keel next to the Blue Flag beach.
Routes are circular and are offered in two distances:
- Half marathon 13.1 miles / 21 km
- 10K 10 kilometres
The course runs through the island and includes hills, exposed sections with wind, and occasionally rainy conditions. The event starts and finishes in Keel and accommodates both runners and walkers on the measured half marathon and 10K routes. Entry places are limited; registration for 2026 is full and a waiting list is being used to fill places as they become available. Past events have posted full results and finish line video recordings via timing partners and online platforms for recent years.
Local organisations and volunteers support the event, and volunteers are formally acknowledged by the organisers. The race has a history of selling out early, with the 2024 event noted as sold out by February, and registration previously opened on 1st November for subsequent years.
