The Great Cow Harbor 10K Run, Northport NY
The Great Cow Harbor event on September 19, 2026 includes an in-person 10 kilometer race and a 2K Fun Run/Walk in Northport, NY. The 10K field is capped at 5,000 registrants and a waitlist is in place for the sold out in-person 10K. A virtual 10K option is available with a window to upload times and photos after the start date.

The 10K course is USATF certified. Start waves are seeded by predicted finish time and subsequent groups are released at short intervals. On-course support includes split clocks at each mile, a recorded 5K split, and water stations near the 2, 3, 4 and 5 mile marks. Race amenities listed by the organizer include baggage drop via UPS trucks, finish line photos, live online timing, an award ceremony at the gazebo, and a raffle requiring presence at the gazebo.
Awards include prize money for the top overall finishers and masters, age group awards, para-athlete awards, and a course record bonus. Number pickup is provided at William J Brosnan School the day before and the morning of the race. There is no race day registration and registration fees are non-refundable.
Proceeds support Special Olympics Long Island, Northwell Health Foundation, the Veterans Administration, a local food pantry and other local causes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
