The Great Cow Harbor 10K Run 2026
The Great Cow Harbor 10K Run and 2K Fun Run take place in Northport, NY on September 19, 2026. The event is centered at the William J Brosnan School and includes in-person and virtual options.
Distances offered:
- 10K in person, capped at 5,000; virtual 10K option available
- 2K Fun Run/Walk untimed family event
The 10K course is USATF certified. Split clocks are provided at every mile and a recorded 5K split is available. Water is provided at the start and after the 2, 3, 4 and 5 mile splits. Live timing and same-day finish line photos are available. Number pickup takes place at the William J Brosnan School the day before the event and the morning of the race. Parking is provided at Northport High School with shuttle bus service to and from the start area; cars parked along the course may be towed.
Awards include cash prizes for the top overall finishers for men and women and age group awards. Para-athlete awards are offered in specified classifications. The event lists course record times and a bonus for a new course record. Proceeds support Special Olympics Long Island, Northwell Health Foundation, the Veterans Administration, the local food pantry and other local causes.
