About the race
The Great Cow Harbor 10K Run and 2K Fun Run take place in Northport, NY on September 19, 2026. The event base is at William J Brosnan School, 158 Laurel Ave., Northport, NY.

- 2K Fun Run / Walk.
The in-person 10K is capped at 5,000 registrants and is listed as sold out; a waitlist is available and participants may be selected from the waitlist through September 1, 2026. A virtual 10K option allows participants to upload times and photos from September 19 through September 27. Child pricing applies for ages 12 and under.
The course is USATF certified. Start waves are seeded by predicted finish time and staged by the color and number series on each bib; groups are released sequentially, one minute apart. Number pickup is at William J Brosnan School on the day before the race and on race morning. Parking is available at Northport High School with shuttle service to the start and from the finish; cars parked along the course may be towed.
On-course amenities include split clocks at every mile, a recorded 5K split, water stations near miles 2 through 5, baggage UPS trucks for bag check, an awards ceremony at the gazebo, and race photos and live results online.
Prizes include monetary awards for top overall finishers, masters awards, age group awards, para-athlete awards, and a course record bonus. Proceeds support Special Olympics Long Island, Northwell Health Foundation, the Veterans Administration, the local food pantry and other local causes.
