The Great Cow Harbor 10K Run
The Great Cow Harbor event in Northport, New York on September 19, 2026 features an in person 10K race and a 2K fun run. The 10K field is capped at 5,000 entrants; a waitlist is available when the race is sold out. A virtual 10K option is offered with an upload window that begins on the event date.

The course is USATF certified. Start waves are seeded by predicted finish time and staged using assigned color and number series; groups are released at one minute intervals. Number pickup takes place at the William J Brosnan School on the day before the race and on race morning.
On-course amenities include split clocks at every mile with a recorded 5K split, water stations near several mile markers, baggage check via UPS trucks, and finish line photos and live online results. An awards ceremony is held at the gazebo with overall cash prizes, masters awards, age group awards across standard divisions, and para-athlete awards. The event supports local nonprofit causes, including Special Olympics Long Island, Northwell Health Foundation, the Veterans Administration, and a local food pantry.
Registration fees are non refundable and non transferable. The event provides shuttle parking at Northport High School and publishes driving directions for attendees. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
