The Grande Firehouse 5k
The event is a 3.1 Miles running race on Gasparilla Island in Boca Grande, Florida. The course runs through historic Boca Grande, passes views of Charlotte Harbor, goes by the Gasparilla Inn, follows scenic Gilchrist Avenue lined with palm trees, and finishes near the Boca Grande Farmers Market.
Registration is online only, with registration open July 28, 2026 through August 7, 2026, and a registration fee of $30. There is no day of event registration and race entries are nonrefundable. Access to Gasparilla Island requires crossing a toll bridge.
Shirts will be provided to participants who register early while supplies last.
Awards are given to the first, second and third place male and female in each age division: under 9, 10-12, 13-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, and 80 plus. Additional awards are planned for overall male and female, master (40 plus), grandmaster (50 plus), senior grandmaster (60 plus), and veteran master (70 plus).
Race proceeds will support the fire department through the Firefighters Association. The event takes place in Boca Grande near the Farmers Market and coincides with other downtown activities on the same day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
