The Good Dog-Dirty Dog 5K/10K
The Good Dog-Dirty Dog Trail Runs take place at Granite Beach, Folsom Lake SRA on Sunday, August 22, 2027. The event offers two trail distances and welcomes runners, walkers, and their dogs. All human finishers receive medals and each dog receives a race bandana.
The course follows wide shaded paths with segments of pavement and some single track trail under old oak trees. Aid stations are located at the halfway point of each course (mile 1.5) and provide cold water, an electrolyte beverage, and CLIF Shot energy gels for athletes, plus water for dogs. Listening devices such as MP3 players and headphones are not allowed; participants are required to exercise caution when crossing roads and to remain attentive on the trails with their dogs.
Packet pickup is available race morning at the race site from 6:30 to 8:00 am. Dogs are categorized by weight for awards: Small (up to 25 lbs), Medium (26 to 60 lbs), Large (61 to 99 lbs), and Extra Large (100 to 141 lbs+). Awards are given for first through third place in each dog division, and there are awards for top runners without dogs in the 5K and 10K. Entry fees vary by distance and dog status; an extra dog fee applies.
The organizer maintains a no refund policy. Refund requests made prior to race week are issued as race credit minus a $25 processing fee. Transfers between events are allowed within one year with a $25 transfer fee. All events are held rain or shine. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
