The Golden Hour - Greenville
The Golden Hour is an all-day fall running festival at Lakewood Nature Preserve in Greenville on November 28, 2027. The event features two distinct one-hour races held around sunrise and sunset, connected by an afternoon festival with food, music, games, and vendors.
Each Golden Hour is run on a 1 mile loop. Participants have 60 minutes to complete as many full one-mile laps as they can; only completed laps count. Morning and evening participants each receive a finisher medal. The Golden Double option combines both races: a runner's mileage from the morning and evening races is added together to determine overall Golden Hour champions, and overall awards are reserved for those who complete both races.
The festival includes a Family Zone with activities such as pumpkin painting, a kids dash, inflatable obstacles, a scavenger hunt, and a costume contest, plus local food vendors and a small makers market. A social area for adults features music, casual competitions, food trucks, and recovery and stretching space. Midday Golden Games include events like a beer-stein hold, pumpkin carry, and a short costume dash.
Age-group awards are offered for the Morning and Evening races across multiple age categories from 0–9 through 80+. Group discounts apply for parties of five or more. General festival admission is available for non-racers. Parking, packet pickup, and weather policies are to be confirmed. All entries are final with no refunds or deferrals.
