The Georgia Jewel

The Georgia Jewel is a multi-distance trail event held near Dalton, GA on the Pinhoti trail system. Distances offered for 2026 include:

  • 100 Miler
  • 50 Miler
  • 35 Miler
  • 18 Miler

The trails are mostly single-track, with the organizer noting about 99% single-track and a steep climb referred to as "Mt. Baker." The route features ridgeline sections and a rock garden, and the 100 mile course starts at the Dalton Convention Center, runs out to the Dry Creek Trail system, and returns to the same area. The Dry Creek trails are described as fast, runnable single-track through a pine forest and are maintained by SORBA. The 100 mile loop configuration allows crews to see runners at the same location for extended stretches.

Bus transportation is provided for the 18, 35, and 50 mile starts, and portable toilets are available at those starting areas. The event manages entries for up to 450 participants and permits distance changes for runners until the field fills. The organizer notes that refunds, deferrals, and bib transfers are not offered.
