The Georgia Jewel
The Georgia Jewel is a multi-distance trail running event held near Dalton, Georgia on September 18-19, 2026. The event offers multiple distances and principally uses the Pinhoti Trail and nearby Dry Creek Trail system. The course is predominantly single-track, with organizers noting 99% single-track and a steep climb section referred to as "Mt. Baker." The Pinhoti route includes ridgeline sections and a rock garden.
The 100 mile course begins at the Dalton Convention Center, runs out to the Dry Creek Trail system, and returns to the finish area. Dry Creek is described as a fast, runnable single-track through pine forest and is maintained by SORBA. The loop layout on parts of the course allows crew to see runners at the same location for more than 30 miles. For the shorter distances, runners are transported to their start locations by bus; toilets are provided at those starting areas.
Organizers report a field capacity of about 450 runners and allow entrants to change distances until capacity is reached. Registration closes on Sun, Sep 13 at 11:59 PM ET. The event policy states there are no refunds, deferrals, or bib transfers. The finish area is described as a place to rest, eat, and share stories, with food and beverage offerings.
