The Georgia Jewel : Dalton, GA, September 18–19, 2026
The Georgia Jewel is a trail running weekend held on the Pinhoti Trail near Dalton, Georgia. The event offers multiple distances and uses extensive single-track terrain; the course is described as 99% single-track with a short steep climb known locally as Mt. Baker. Sections include ridgeline running and a rock garden that requires careful footing.
Organizers stage the 100 mile course from the Dalton Convention Center and route it through the Dry Creek Trail system. The Dry Creek trails are maintained by SORBA and pass through a pine forest on fast, runnable single-track. A loop configuration on part of the course allows crews to access the same location for more than 30 miles.
Support and logistics details provided by the organizers include bus transport for the 18, 35, and 50 mile starts, and toilets at those starting areas. The finish area includes seating and food for participants and their crews. The event has a stated capacity of 450 runners; organizers permit runners to change distances while entries remain available. The event policy does not allow refunds, deferrals, or bib transfers. Registration closes on September 13, 2026.
