Run Northumberland Rothbury Winter 10k 2025
The event is a certified road race over 10K held in Rothbury on 28th December 2025. The course is measured and described as undulating, mostly on road, with marshal control and traffic-free sections. The route starts at the Middle School, follows Whitton Bank Road to Carterside Road on an out-and-back section turning before Little Tosson, and finishes at Riverside Park in Rothbury. Chip timing is provided by Timing4Sport.
Entries, logistics and rules
Entry is limited to 300 runners and closes on 26th December 2025. Fees are £22 (affiliated) and £24 (unaffiliated). Minimum age is 15. Race HQ is at Riverside Park and registration is on Silverton Lane, Rothbury; bag drop is available at the finish and toilets are near registration and the finish on Bridge Street. There are distance markers every kilometre and a water station at 5 km. The event notes that results and positions are calculated by gun time, with chip time provided for personal use. Typical 10K cut-off guidance is 1 hour 30 minutes. The event rules prohibit wheeled devices (except approved wheelchair sections), pets, MP3 players and headphones, and other items that could affect safety.
Prizes and team scoring
All finishers receive a finisher medal. Individual prizes for overall finishers are vouchers: 1st male/female £50, 2nd £30, 3rd £20. First veterans in each age group (women 35+ and men 40+) receive a £10 voucher, subject to a minimum of five finishers in the age group. Team prizes require three scoring members and a minimum of three teams to qualify; scoring runners must wear a UKA registered club vest.
