About the race
The Fort 20 is a looped trail race held on 11 October 2026 at Landguard Fort in Felixstowe, Suffolk. The route starts and finishes within the walls of the 18th Century Landguard Fort and runs across coastal and port landscapes.
The course covers 20 mile of mixed trail and passes through two nature reserves, two river estuaries and the Port. The route is fully marked and a GPX file is provided. Support for participants includes three water and snack stations, a drop bag facility, a quality long sleeve T-shirt and a race medal. The event uses generous cut offs and specifies a six hour overall cut off.
The race is organised by Coastal Trail Runners in collaboration with English Heritage and is licensed by the Trail Running Association and held under UK Athletics Rules. Participants must be at least 18 years old on race day. Entry windows and fees are published: entries open 1 November 2025 and close 26 September 2026; affiliated entry fee is £40.00 and unaffiliated entry fee is £42.00.
