The Fool's Adventure 10-hour ROGAINE
The Fool's Adventure is a ten hour foot ROGAINE scheduled for March 29, 2026 in Wayne, New Jersey, held within the North Central New Jersey area. The course covers roughly eight square miles of rugged North Jersey wilderness and includes more than 100 checkpoints placed across terrain not previously used for foot, bike, or paddle events.
Checkpoints may be visited in any order. Checkpoints are not marked with traditional flags; each CP is indicated by an orange ribbon bearing its ID number. Competitors record proof of finding a CP by writing the number on a passport, photographing the tag, or dictating and later transcribing the number. Accuracy of recorded CP numbers is required.
All registrations are individual entries; details about teams will be provided closer to the event. Registered participants receive maps, clues, rules, and a passport for recording checkpoint visits.
Mandatory gear includes clothing suitable for the day, a personal first-aid kit and whistle, a cell phone for emergencies, food and water sufficient for ten hours, and a compass plus the knowledge to use it. Navigation is entirely on foot and use of GPS assistance is not allowed.
The route includes rocky sections and scenic views. The event involves extended periods of running, hiking, and land navigation across variable terrain. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
