The Foley Gobbler
The Foley Gobbler is held on Thanksgiving morning in Foley, Alabama, at Graham Creek Nature Preserve. The event program includes a chip timed 5K on a marked cross-country trail, an untimed one mile fun run/walk on a shorter loop, and a free kids dash for ages 8 and under.
Distances:
- 5K: chip timed cross-country trail inside Graham Creek Nature Preserve
- 1 Mile: untimed fun run and walk on a shorter loop
- 100 yards: free kids dash for ages 8 and under
The 5K course is marked and has water stations on course and at the finish. The 5K listing includes awards for overall, masters, and age groups from 10 and under through 80 plus; a satsuma and a finisher medal are given to everyone who crosses the line. The one mile event is untimed and includes a shirt and a satsuma. The kids dash is free, awards a ribbon to every child, and allows a parent to run alongside; registration is required so a ribbon is available for each participant.
Walkers are welcome; a Tail Walker stays at the back and the 5K course is open for ninety minutes. Proceeds benefit Gulf Coast nonprofits that support women, children and adoption. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
