The Firefly Trail Run
The Firefly Trail Run is a timed trail race held on private property in Hendersonville, North Carolina. The event features three race options: a 12-hour event, a 6-hour event, and a 5K.
All races take place on a scenic singletrack loop that is approximately 3 miles long. Each lap passes a waterfall, mountain creeks, and a vintage event barn, and includes about 400 feet of elevation gain. The 5K race consists of one complete loop of this course. The 6-hour and 12-hour events are timed races where participants run the loop continuously, deciding their own distance. The loop-based format allows for frequent access to the aid station.
The event venue includes onsite parking. Runner amenities include a long-sleeve shirt for those who register by a certain date, a custom wooden finisher's medal, a stocked aid station, a marked course, professional timing, post-race food and drinks, and awards. Awards are given to the top three overall finishers and the top three in several age groups. Camping and onsite lodging are available nearby.
Packet pickup is available on the Friday afternoon before the race and on Saturday morning. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
