The Firefly Trail Run
The Firefly Trail Run takes place April 25, 2026 at Wag Valley Farm (formerly Reeb Ranch), 315 Shoals Falls Rd, Hendersonville, NC. The event uses private property reserved for race weekend and includes camping and onsite lodging through Wag Valley Farm.
The course is a continuous single-track loop of about three miles with roughly 400 feet of elevation gain per lap (course elevation also listed as approximately 413 feet). Each lap passes a waterfall, mountain creeks, and runs through a vintage event barn where the main aid station is located. The 5K is a single loop.
Distances and formats:
- 5K one approximately three mile loop
- 6 hour timed run as many loops as possible
- 12 hour timed run as many loops as possible
The timed format lets participants complete as many loops as they choose; finishers gift eligibility requires starting and completing at least one loop. The loop design provides frequent access to the stocked aid station and reduces the need to carry large amounts of gear or hydration.
Participant amenities include soft long sleeve shirts (register by April 1 to ensure size), custom wooden finishers medals, professional timing, well marked course, onsite parking, awards, and post-race food and drinks with venue-sold beer. Meatball subs with a vegan option are provided for 6 hour and 12 hour runners.
The event is capped at 135 participants and is held rain or shine. Lightning delays follow a 30 minute no lightning protocol. Refund and transfer policies: 100% refund more than six months prior, 50% refund three to six months prior, no refunds within three months. Transfers or deferments allowed up to four weeks before the event. Awards include top three in overall, age groups and top three non-binary.
