Event overview
The Firefly Trail Run in Hendersonville, NC is a timed trail event held on private property at 315 Shoals Falls Rd. The event offers multiple formats: timed 12-hour and 6-hour races and a 5K that covers a single loop. The timed format has no fixed distance - participants may complete as many laps as they choose within the race time limits. Registration closes Fri, Apr 24. Camping and onsite lodging are available through Wag Valley Farm.
Course and logistics
The course consists of an approximately 3 mile singletrack loop with about 400+ feet of elevation gain per loop. The loop passes a waterfall, mountain creeks, and a vintage event barn. The loop design provides frequent aid station access, regular opportunities to see other runners, and reduced need to carry extra gear. The venue and course are reserved for event weekend.
Runners receive event amenities including soft long sleeve shirts (register by 4/1 to ensure size), a custom wooden finisher medal, a stocked aid station with hands-on support, a well marked course, professional timing, onsite parking, awards, and post-race food and drinks. Awards are presented to the top three finishers in the overall and age-group categories: Overall winners; 29 & Under; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60+.
