The Fast & The Furriest 2026
The Fast & The Furriest takes place in Rochester on Saturday, June 6, 2026. The event is organized by Verona Street Animal Society and Rochester Animal Services and combines running, walking, and a pet-focused community festival.

The in-person gathering at Brown Square Park includes a pet festival with music, food trucks, sponsor giveaways, vendors, pet contests, and a variety of activities for families and dogs. A vaccination clinic on site offers rabies and DAPP vaccines and microchipping on a first come, first serve basis.
Packet pick up is offered at Fleet Feet at the Armory, 155 Culver Rd, and at the event location, 184 Verona Street, Rochester NY. Registrations may include options to create individual or team fundraisers; funds raised support shelter operations and community programs.
Registration and fundraising support shelter services such as food, shelter, medical care, adoption and spay/neuter programs. The event notes that a single registration will spay or neuter a male cat or feed a cat for one month, and additional donations increase the impact on animals in the community.
