The Fast & The Furriest
The 20th annual The Fast & The Furriest event takes place in Rochester at Brown Square Park and Rochester Animal Services. This community gathering supports animals in the local area through the Verona Street Animal Society. The event features a variety of athletic distances and activities for participants and their dogs.
Participants can choose from several in person and virtual options:
- 10K (In Person or Virtual)
- 5K (In Person or Virtual)
- 1/2 Mile Kids Race
- Dog Walk (In Person or Virtual)
The in person site at 184 Verona Street hosts a pet festival alongside the races. This festival includes music, food trucks, and vendor booths with sponsor giveaways. Attendees can participate in pet contests or utilize an onsite vaccination clinic providing rabies and DAPP vaccines as well as microchipping on a first-come, first-served basis.
Registration for the 5K and 10K distances remains open until the day before the event, as there is no race day registration for these specific categories. Packet pick up is available on the Friday before the race at Fleet Feet at the Armory or on the morning of the event at the race location. Participants who register by the mid-May deadline are guaranteed an event t-shirt. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
