About the race
The Eternal Damnation Backyard is a Last Man Standing backyard ultra scheduled for April 24, 2027 at Wilson State Park (Hell Creek area) outside Dorrance, KS. The start and finish are located at the Switchgrass Mountain Bike Trail parking lot. The event is organized by Ultraverse Supplements.
The course begins with about three quarters of a mile on pavement, then continues entirely on single-track mountain bike trail alongside Wilson Lake. Each lap starts and ends at the Switchgrass Mountain Bike Trail parking lot. Loop length requirements follow backyard ultra rules: each loop must be 4 miles 880 feet (metric equivalent 6.7056 kilometers), and each loop must be completed within an hour. Starts occur exactly one hour apart and all competitors must start at the bell. The event is open-ended; the winner is the last runner to complete a loop. Timing of individual loops is optional under the rules.
Event services and policies noted by the organizer include 24/7 live media coverage by Limping Deer LLC, provision of water and Proxima C Endurance Fuel, space for two crew members per runner, and no electricity at the crew area. All entrants receive a long sleeve tri-blend shirt and a buckle showing exact mileage; runners who complete 24 hours (100 miles) receive a named embroidered item mailed after the event. Age minimum is 16 unless accompanied by an adult. The organizer states no refunds, no bib transfers, and a tiered credit schedule for cancellations.
