Hell Creek 100

Hell Creek 100 is a multi-distance trail event presented by Ultraverse Supplements held October 30 to November 1, 2026 at the Switchgrass trail head in the Hell Creek area of Wilson State Park near Sylvan Grove, Kansas. The start and finish are located at the Switchgrass trail head (GPS N38°54.965 W98°30.549). Runner tracking is available at regular intervals during the event and professional race photos are provided.

All races use the Switchgrass Mountain Bike Trail. The course is rugged single track with relatively few wooded sections and frequent views of Wilson Lake and Wilson State Park. Races are run on 20 mile loops: one loop for the 20 mile, three loops for the 100k, five loops for the 100 mile, and seven loops for the Pure Hell 140. Elevation gain varies by distance, with the 100 mile listed at 10,120 ft and the Pure Hell 140 at 14,168 ft.

There are two manned aid stations at the start/finish and Hell Hill plus one unmanned water station around mile 5. The furthest distance without access to water is 6.25 miles. Some aid items include vegan options and hot food at night. A costume contest will take place on Halloween with prize credits for the top three entries.

Key rules include a minimum age of 18, pacers allowed only for the 100 mile and Pure Hell 140 after roughly 100k, crew limited to manned aid stations, no bib transfers, and no refunds. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
