The Enoree 100, Newberry SC
The Enoree 100 is a 100 Mile trail race organized by G.O.A.T. Trail Running near Newberry, South Carolina. The course follows the Enoree Passage of the Palmetto Trail, runs north through the Sumter National Forest to the Cross Keys House area in Union County, and then returns south to Newberry to complete the full loop. Aid stations are placed roughly every 6 to 8 miles.
The route begins near Newberry High School and uses quiet country roads before entering singletrack and forest trails. Early terrain includes pine ridges, hardwood bottomlands, and crossings of Gilders Creek and Indian Creek. The trail shares sections with the Buncombe Horse Trail and passes Brick House Campground, beaver ponds, and the lakes at Macedonia, Sedalia, and John’s Creek. The Cross Keys House serves as the official halfway aid station.
Runners have 32 hours to finish the full distance. The course includes approximately 6,200 feet of elevation gain. February weather in South Carolina is variable and can include cold, warm, or wet conditions over the course of a day.
Required items noted for the event include a course map on a phone or GPS device, a fully charged cell phone, a personal hydration vessel because this is a cup less event, and a headlamp with extra batteries.
