Event overview
The Drop - Glasgow is an outdoor navigation event organised by Organic Adventure Ltd at Ocho, 8 Speirs Wharf, Glasgow G4 9TB. The next scheduled race date is 16/08/2026. Participants choose either a 15-mile or 10-mile challenge, completed solo or in a team.
The drop format means competitors are taken to an undisclosed drop-off location and must find their way back to the event centre. Distances are measured as the crow flies; the actual travel distance may be longer.
Format, kit and rules
On registration, participants hand over all electronic devices and navigational aids; these items are sealed in an emergency bag that is carried during the event. Blindfolds or blackout safety goggles are used for the drop; an alternative is available if needed. From the drop point, participants must rely on their own navigation on foot.
Key rules: no personal GPS or unauthorised maps, no shortcuts, and breaking the emergency bag seal results in disqualification. The organisers offer an optional live GPS tracking system for safety and spectator viewing; trackers are accurate to about 5 metres but can be affected by buildings and signal black spots.
