The Dorchester Sprint Triathlon
The Dorchester Sprint Triathlon is a twice yearly sprint event held in Dorchester, organised by Bustinskin Triathlon Club and based at 1610 Sports Centre, Coburg Road, Dorchester DT1 2HR. The event combines short pool swimming, a road bike leg and a multi-lap run in a compact venue with straightforward logistics.
Race format and distances
- 300 m pool swim, 12 lengths, individual time trial starts
- 21 km bike approx, rolling roads, includes the climb to Hardy's Monument
- 5 km run approx, two laps around the Great Field at Poundbury
Swim start times are allocated by predicted swim speed so accurate swim time entries are required in HH:MM:SS format (example 00:07:30). Athletes are encouraged to review the published bike and run routes in advance. All competitors must read the official race brief before race day. Registration is conducted on the day and participants receive any required race materials at registration.
Entries are limited and may sell out. The published entry fee is £45 and refund protection insurance is recommended in case injury or illness prevents participation. The event description notes a calm, controlled pool swim start, a scenic bike route with classic Dorset views, and a flat, spectator friendly run around Poundbury.
