The Dorchester Sprint Triathlon
The Dorchester Sprint Triathlon is a well established sprint triathlon held in Dorchester, Dorset and organised by Bustinskin Triathlon Club. The event takes place twice a year in May and October and uses a compact venue at 1610 Sports Centre, Coburg Road, Dorchester DT1 2HR.
The race comprises three short distance legs:
- Swim: 300 m pool swim, 12 lengths, individual time trial starts
- Bike: approximately 21 km on rolling roads with a climb to Hardy's Monument
- Run: approximately 5 km, two laps around the Great Field at Poundbury
The swim uses allocated start times based on entered swim predictions; entrants must submit swim times in HH:MM:SS format to determine start order. Registration is completed on the day and no race materials are sent in advance. Final route details and safety information are provided in the official Race Brief, which all athletes are required to read before the event.
Entries are limited and may sell out before the closing date. The published entry fee is £45 and the event is open to entrants aged 16 and over on 31/12/2026.
