The Dizzy GOAT
The Dizzy GOAT is a timed trail-running event at Chalco Hills Recreation Area in Omaha, NE, offering three duration options. Participants run repeated loops on a course that is about 3 miles per loop and may stop, rest, or return to running within their chosen time window. Each participant decides how far to go during their selected time.
Race staffing and support include a fully stocked aid station at the start and finish area plus a mid-loop stop called the Motivation Station. If a participant takes a break during the run, they must notify the timer when they stop and when they resume. If a participant leaves the park, the event organizers consider that participant's race finished, though participants may return later to celebrate.
Event capacity is limited to 250 runners in total across all durations. The first 250 registrants are guaranteed event swag. Runners who meet the listed distance standards receive a Dizzy GOAT medal for their performance:
- 12 hours
- 6 hours
- 3 hours
Medal standards are based on completed loops and approximate mileage: three hours equals about 9 miles (3 loops), six hours about 21 miles (7 loops), and twelve hours about 39 miles (13 loops). The event also provides a race T-shirt and on-course food at the aid stations. Registration closes on Mon, Jun 22 at 11:59 PM CT. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
