The Dizzy GOAT
The Dizzy GOAT is a timed trail event held at Chalco Hills Recreation Area in Omaha, NE. Participants choose a fixed time window and complete as many repeats of a roughly 3 mile loop as they can within that window. The looped course will be run in the reverse direction from a previous year.
Participants can enter one of three options:
- 3 hour option
- 6 hour option
- 12 hour option
The field is limited to 250 runners total across all options. A fully stocked aid station will be located at the start and finish area and a manned or unmanned midloop "Motivation Station" will provide additional support. Runners who reach certain standards receive a Dizzy GOAT medal: 3 hours or 9 miles (3 loops), 6 hours or 21 miles (7 loops), and 12 hours or 39 miles (13 loops). The first 250 registrants are guaranteed event swag and registered runners may receive a race T shirt when registered before May 25.
Rules emphasize personal pacing and simple reporting to the timer. If a runner leaves the park, organizers consider that runner's race finished; runners taking extended breaks should notify the timer when they stop and when they resume. The event has post race awards and a participant limit to manage field size. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
