Dizzy Goat : G.O.A.T.z
Dizzy Goat is a timed trail event held at Chalco Hills Recreation Area in Omaha, NE. The course consists of a roughly 3 mile loop that is about 90% single track and has approximately 300 feet of elevation gain per loop. The event is limited to 250 runners.
There are two staffed aid stations. One is at the start and finish and offers food such as oranges, bananas, watermelon, pretzels, and pickles. The second is the Motivation Station, located about 1.75 miles into each loop; it provides water, Hammer Heed, and ice but no food. Motivation Station personnel also monitor runner condition for safety.
Participants choose among timed entries and attempt as many loops as they can within the time limit. Packet pickup is scheduled the day before the race at Peak Performance in Omaha.
Distances and typical loop counts:
- 3 hours - 3 loops, about 9 miles
- 6 hours - 7 loops, about 21 miles
- 12 hours - 13 loops, about 39 miles
Awards are given to the top three male and top three female finishers in each timed race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
