The Darkest Night 4K - HOPE 4 Youth
The Darkest Night 4K takes place on Friday, October 2, 2026, at Bunker Hills Golf Course in Coon Rapids. The event is a family-friendly, luminary-lit run and walk that includes evening activities for participants of all ages.
The night begins with games and activities such as face painting, decorating a luminary, and a glow station. Organizers will hold drawings and present awards for categories including the largest team and highest fundraising totals. The event format combines a short running or walking route with a community gathering around luminaries.
The event’s purpose is to raise awareness about the experiences of youth who are homeless when night falls. Many youth stay in shelters, sleep on the streets or in their cars, or move between couches. HOPE 4 Youth focuses on meeting basic needs and providing resources and skills to help young people find and keep stable housing, and to ensure they feel safe, valued, and supported.
