The Dark Side 8 Hour Ultra is an annual timed trail running event held in Little Bennett Park, Montgomery County, Maryland. The event runs for eight hours and takes place on a looped trail course. Registration for the event closes on Sun, Mar 1 at 11:59 PM ET.

Course and on-course support

The course uses the Little Bennett Campground Pavilion as the start/finish area and follows the same route used in 2025. The main loop is 5.5-mile long and is primarily on single-track trails. Participants may complete one lap or multiple laps within the eight-hour time limit.

The first aid station provides water, hydration options and a selection of ultra foods, including potatoes, broth, bacon, French toast sticks and muffins. A post-race meal will include veggie chili and a taco bar. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
