The Cut Ultra : event details
The Cut Ultra is an elimination-style running event held on the bitumen criterium track at Gold Coast Cycle Centre, Hope Street, Nerang, Gold Coast, Queensland. The event is scheduled for Saturday, October 31, 2026. Online entries open July 1, 2026.
The race format involves repeated laps with runners removed from the field at designated cuts. The overall event distance will vary by competitor but is expected to be between 10.5 km and, on this occasion, no more than 50 km. The course layout may change between laps - for example clockwise, anti-clockwise, figure of 6 or figure of 8 configurations.
There is a Junior Cut for ages 10–16, capped at 30 runners, run on 500 m laps with a minimum of 2 km and a maximum of 5 km. The main event has a minimum age of 12; runners aged 12–15 will face a mandatory cut at 21 km.
The event is capped and each runner receives a finisher's gift when cut. There are no medals. Prizes include overall winner, team categories (total and pro rata), and individual most laps won. Race numbers are available for collection prior to the race and on race day.
On-site services include hydration partner FIXX Nutrition, chilled water (no disposable cups), food and coffee vans, a bar, first aid, music and family activities.
