About the race
The Cut Ultra is an elimination-format lap race held at the Gold Coast Cycle Centre, Hope Street, Nerang, Queensland. The event is scheduled for Saturday, October 31, 2026, with online entries opening July 1, 2026 and closing on race day.
The main race runs variable total distance; participants will run somewhere between 10.5 km and 50 km, with runners eliminated on specified laps. A Junior Cut for ages 10–16 uses 500 m laps, with a minimum of 2 km and a maximum of 5 km. Minimum competing age for the main event is 12; runners aged 12–15 face a mandatory elimination at the 21 km mark if they have not been cut earlier.
Race numbers are available for collection on the day and on the day prior. Hydration is provided by a partner, and chilled water is available; participants must bring a reusable cup or bottle because disposable cups will not be provided. There are no mandatory gear requirements for this version of the event. Each runner who is cut receives a finisher's gift; there are no standard finisher medals for The Cut.
The event precinct includes a party area with food vans, a bar, live music, DJ, casual games, first aid cover, massage services, and activities for children. The race is run on the bitumen criterium track where lap direction and course pattern may vary between laps.
Prizes include overall winner, team lap totals, team pro rata, and most laps won by an individual. Some spot prizes will be awarded on the day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
