About the race
LIMINAL is the first event in THE CUT endurance series. It is a running format described as "12 hours plus one" made of 12 timed rounds followed by a final hour if multiple competitors remain. Each round begins on the hour and uses a running loop that stays within defined distance limits of 3-4 miles. The required time to complete each round is revealed only at the start of that round; failing to meet a round requirement results in elimination with no extensions or second chances.
The event headquarters is at Perranporth Life Saving Club. The course uses local coastline, dunes and surrounding terrain, and competitors should expect exposure, shifting ground and undulating coastal conditions. Crew support is encouraged but not guaranteed to change outcomes.
Competitors are advised to be prepared for sustained endurance effort across repeated rounds. The organiser strongly recommends ability to run three miles in 24 minutes or under on undulating terrain as guidance for safety and event standard. Mandatory kit at minimum includes trail or off-road shoes, a high-visibility outer layer, head torch, rear red light, a charged mobile phone and a personal hydration system; spare footwear and socks are advised for coastal conditions. Entry fee is listed as £80 and entries open and close on specified dates. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
