The Cut - LIMINAL
LIMINAL is a running endurance event in THE CUT series that uses a "12 rounds + 1" format. Each round begins on the hour and takes place on a running loop with a distance limit of 3-4 miles. The time required to complete each round is not disclosed until the round starts; failing to meet any round requirement results in immediate removal from the event. If one or more competitors complete all 12 rounds, the event proceeds to a final hour of head-to-head competition to determine a single male and a single female winner.
The event is based at Perranporth Life Saving Club. The course uses local coastline, dunes and surrounding terrain, and participants should expect exposure, shifting ground and undulating coastal conditions. The environment is described as part of the test rather than mere scenery.
Organizers recommend that competitors be able to run three miles in 24 minutes or under on undulating terrain as a guideline for safety and suitability. Mandatory kit at minimum includes trail or off-road running footwear, a high-visibility outer layer, head torch, rear red light, a fully charged mobile phone and a personal hydration system; spare footwear and socks are strongly recommended for coastal conditions. Crew support is encouraged but not guaranteed to provide reassurance.
Entry details note an entry fee of £80 and defined opening and closing dates for entries. Competitors accept responsibility for their preparation and readiness to operate under sustained and shifting demands. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
