The Cut - LIMINAL
LIMINAL is a timed endurance event held at Perranporth Life Saving Club in Cornwall. The format comprises 12 rounds plus a final hour. Each round begins on the hour and uses a running loop with distance limits of approximately 3–4 miles. The required time to complete each round is revealed only as competitors step off; failing to meet a round requirement results in immediate elimination. If more than one competitor survives the 12 rounds, the event proceeds to a head-to-head final hour that results in a single male and a single female winner.
The event emphasises changing time requirements rather than fixed distance targets. The terrain includes coastline, dunes and undulating coastal ground, with exposure and shifting surfaces expected. Competitors should be prepared for sand and potential wet conditions; spare footwear and socks are recommended.
Organisers recommend that participants are capable of running three miles in 24 minutes or under on undulating terrain at points during the event. Mandatory kit at minimum includes trail or off-road running footwear, a high-visibility outer layer, a head torch, a rear red light, a fully charged mobile phone and a personal hydration system. Parking is available in multiple council-operated car parks within walking distance of the event site; spaces can fill quickly during peak periods.
Entries open and close on specified dates and an entry fee applies. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
