The Cut - LIMINAL
LIMINAL is the first event in THE CUT Endurance Series. It is a running-based endurance format described as "12 hours plus one" where each round begins on the hour, distance is kept within defined limits, and time requirements change without prior notice. The running loop operates within a distance window of approximately 3–4 miles per round.
Each round’s required completion time is not disclosed until a competitor starts that round. Failing to meet the requirement for any round results in immediate elimination; there are no extensions or second chances. Competitors who complete all 12 rounds enter a final hour of head-to-head competition; one male and one female are declared the overall winners.
The event base is Perranporth Life Saving Club. The course will use local coastline, dunes and surrounding terrain. Expect exposure, shifting ground and undulating coastal conditions, with sand and the potential for wet feet.
Entry is open to those prepared to operate in discomfort. Organisers recommend competitors are capable of running three miles in 24 minutes or under on undulating terrain at points during the event to support safety and maintain event standards.
Support crews are encouraged. Mandatory minimum kit includes trail or off-road footwear, a high-visibility outer layer, a head torch, a rear red light, a fully charged mobile phone and a personal hydration system. Competitors are responsible for arriving prepared. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
