About the race
LIMINAL is the first event in THE CUT Endurance Series. It is a running-based endurance format structured as twelve rounds plus a final deciding hour. Each round begins on the hour and uses a running loop that stays within defined distance limits of about 3-4 miles. The time required to complete each round is not disclosed until the round starts; failing to meet the requirement results in elimination with no extensions or second chances.
If one or more competitors complete all twelve rounds, the event proceeds to a final hour in a head-to-head format to determine one male and one female winner. The event headquarters is at Perranporth Life Saving Club and the course uses local coastline, dunes and surrounding terrain. Expect exposure, shifting ground and undulating coastal conditions; the environment is part of the test.
Organizers encourage crew support. Entry details show an entry fee of £80 and entries open and close on specified dates. Competitors are advised to be prepared for sustained effort; organizers recommend the ability to run three miles in 24 minutes or under on undulating terrain as guidance for safety and event standard.
Mandatory kit at minimum includes trail or off-road footwear, a high-visibility outer layer, a head torch, a rear red light, a fully charged mobile phone and a personal hydration system. Spare footwear and socks are recommended for sand and wet conditions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
