The Cupcake Classic 3K
The Cupcake Classic 3K takes place on August 14, 2026 at Wellington Park in South Lexington, Kentucky. The event supports VIPS, a nonprofit dedicated to providing early vision interventions and parental support to children with blindness or low vision.
Events offered include:
- 3K Run/Walk on paved park trails, chip-timed
- Little Cupcake Kids' Dash, 1/4 mile (400 yards), untimed for children 10 and under
- Virtual Runner/Walker, 3K with commemorative shirt mailed
The 3K is held on paved trail surfaces and awards are presented to the Top 3 male and female overall finishers and the Top 3 male and female in five year age divisions. Walkers, strollers, and dogs on fixed-length leashes are welcomed on course. All in-person participants receive a commemorative race T-shirt and a cupcake. Children in the Kids' Dash receive a commemorative T-shirt, a finisher's medal, and a cupcake; there are no awards for the Kids' Dash.
Additional event features listed include free race photos, a DJ, social teams with a largest team prize, and referral rewards that can refund registration fees. Volunteer opportunities are available for race-day shifts. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
