The Country Mile 48 Hour Run/Walk
The Country Mile is a 48-hour run/walk held at Beechwood Farms in Marietta, SC (204 Bates Bridge Rd, Slater-Marietta, SC 29661) as part of the Upstate Race Series. Participants repeat a single loop of 4.167 miles as many times as they choose over the weekend.
The loop is about 95% wide dirt paths with some grass and light gravel, and roughly 25 feet of elevation gain per lap. Clear directional arrows mark each turn; one aid station at the U-Pick Stand is reached once per lap. The aid station offers snacks (cookies, pretzels, candy, chips, pickles, soup) and hydration (water, Coke, ginger ale, coffee). This is a cup-less event; participants should bring their own hydration vessel. Overnight aid support is limited while volunteers rest, though timing continues.
On-site camping is available; tent and car camping are free in designated areas, and a limited number of RV spots are offered for a fee. Food is provided as a fundraiser by the Travelers Rest High School cheerleaders across the weekend, and a beer truck will be on site. Race services include chip timing with live results, custom bibs, finisher medals, event giveaways, and commemorative awards such as a buckle for 100-mile finishers.
