The Country Mile 48-Hour Run/Walk
The Country Mile is a 48-hour run and walk held at Beechwood Family Farm in Slater-Marietta, South Carolina. The event uses a looped course of 4.167 miles with about 75 feet of elevation gain per loop. The surface is primarily wide dirt paths with some grass and light gravel, and directional arrows are posted at each turn.
The event offers multiple distance options and flexible pacing on the looped course. Chip timing records each lap automatically using a bib and an ankle chip. Aid station supplies include salty and sweet snacks, soups, water, soda, coffee and limited overnight support; this is a cup-less event so participants should bring their own cup or bottle.
Included items and services for registered participants include race photos, custom bibs, music, mileage awards, finisher medals, 100-mile buckles, and other cumulative awards. The weekend features camping options with tent and car camping available and a limited number of RV spaces for a fee. Meals are provided by local volunteers and a beer vendor will be on site.
Family activities run alongside the main event. A 1-mile kids fun run concludes with an Easter egg hunt, and a religious service will be held on Easter Sunday in front of the U-Pick stand. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
