The Compass Pointe 5K
The Compass Pointe 5K is a community sports event scheduled for Halloween in Leland, North Carolina. The event takes place within the Compass Pointe neighborhood, with the course winding through local streets starting and finishing near the Grand Lanai. Participants can choose to complete the 3.1 Miles distance by running or walking.
Registration for the event includes an official 2026 T-shirt, a finisher medal for all participants, and a timed bib. The race serves as a benefit for Brunswick Family Assistance, with the goal of supporting hunger relief efforts in Brunswick County. The event also features a friendly neighborhood and club competition.
A post-race festival is held immediately following the run both inside and outside the Grand Lanai. This celebration includes food prepared by the Compass Pointe Culinary Club and beverages from Waterline Brewing Company. Entertainment is provided by the band Whiplash. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs to the festival area.
