Event overview
The Combe Crawler is an annual cross-country trail race organised by Ilfracombe Running Club. The course covers 8.5 miles (13.6 km) of multi-terrain running, including steep coastal paths, woodland tracks, fields and hilly sections. The 2025 edition uses the traditional route in reverse. The event is based at Ilfracombe Football Club, Marlborough Way, Ilfracombe (EX34 8AB). The race holds Trail Running Association permit No: 7401 and will raise funds for South West Blood Bikes and North Devon Hospice.
Entries and race services
Entries for the 2025 race open 1 August 2025 and close 21 November 2025. Entrants must be at least 17 years old and the field is limited to 200 participants. Entry fees listed for 2025 are Attached £14.00 and Unattached £16.00. The course will be fully marshaled and medical cover will be provided by Apex Medical. Race numbers are to be collected from Race HQ on the day. Deferments are not possible and refunds on cancellation are only available once the race is full and a place can be reallocated. All finishers receive a souvenir and there will be category prizes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
