The Christmas Eve 5k
The Christmas Eve 5k is a community 5 kilometer event held in Pittsburgh on the North Shore near Acrisure Stadium on West General Robinson Street. The event offers multiple ways to participate: an in person Run/Walk, a virtual Run/Walk, and a free entry option for children ages 4 and under. Virtual race packets are mailed and are not available at in person packet pickup.
Early packet pickup is available from December 19 to December 23 at Public Lands in Cranberry Township. Limited packet pickup is available on race day near the start and finish area. Registering by December guarantees a custom bib with a name on it and registering before the t shirt deadline guarantees a long sleeve race shirt.
All finishers receive a custom finisher medal. Award medals are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers and to the top three finishers in each age group: 10 and under; 11 to 14; 15 to 19; 20 to 29; 30 to 39; 40 to 49; 50 to 59; 60 to 69; and 70 and over. Amenities listed for participants include hot chocolate, coffee, cider, cookies and other post race refreshments. Portable restrooms will be available between the start and finish on Mazeroski Way, there is a water stop at the one mile mark, dogs are not allowed on the course, and strollers are permitted. The event enforces a 90 minute time limit to complete the course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
