Cheshire 3 Peaks Half Marathon - Winter Edition
The Cheshire 3 Peaks Half Marathon is a winter trail event organised by OutFit Personal Fitness Ltd at Tegg’s Nose Country Park above Macclesfield. The route is a 13.1 mile loop that visits the three highest peaks in Cheshire and covers varied terrain including reservoirs, forest tracks and open hilltops.
The course has 847 m of total ascent, so many participants will need to walk on the steeper sections. From the central area competitors head up to Tegg’s Nose, descend to Tegg’s Nose Reservoir, pass through Macclesfield Forest and Trentabank car park, then climb Shuttlingsloe. Later the route crosses the main road by the Cat & Fiddle, where a checkpoint carries a 2 hours 15 minutes cut off, before the ascent to Shining Tor, the highest point in Cheshire.
The final miles are described as bumpy with changing terrain rather than steep climbs, and the route finishes back at Tegg’s Nose where finishers receive a medal and may replenish. The event includes a four hour overall cut off for completion and is presented as a winter edition of an event first held in 2025. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
