The CCC's General Community Run and Walk
The CCC's General Community Run and Walk is a local athletic event held at the Christian Church of Chester in Chester, Pennsylvania. This community gathering offers several ways for participants to be active, with proceeds benefiting the CCC Community Development Corporation and the General's Scholarship Fund.
Participants can choose from a range of distances and categories:
- 5K (Run and Walk)
- Competitive Walking 5K
- 1 Mile Non-Competitive Walk
- Virtual 5k
The Competitive Walking 5K is strictly for those who intend to walk the entire course, with no running or jogging permitted. For those who cannot attend in person, the Virtual 5k option allows participants to complete the distance at any location and submit their results electronically.
The event features chip timing provided by the MYLAPS BibTag Timing System for the 5K distances. Top finisher awards are issued based on gun time for the overall male and female winners, as well as masters categories. Age group medals are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in various brackets based on net time.
Amenities at the event include race shirts and music. The morning begins with an optional open house featuring community partners. Following the physical activities, a celebration takes place featuring light bites, a cookout, a cornhole tournament, and various games. Due to insurance requirements, dogs are not permitted at the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
