The Cartersville Half-Marathon and Pinwheel Pursuit 5K
The event takes place on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at the Georgia Quick Start - Cartersville Campus (315 Etowah Drive, the "Old" Cartersville Primary School) in Cartersville, GA. Two road races are scheduled the same day: a half marathon in its 5th year and the Pinwheel Pursuit 5K in its 21st year, formerly called the Duck Dash. The races are presented by Chick-fil-A and Big Peach Running Co. Proceeds benefit Advocates for Children.

The half marathon offers overall and masters awards for top finishers and provides custom-designed medals for all finishers. The 5K includes overall and masters awards and age-group medals for top three finishers in age divisions ranging from 10-and-under through 70-and-over. The course descriptions note that both races were designed to be fast. The half marathon has a 2.5 hour time limit; roads will be controlled for that period and then reopened.
Practical information includes recommended parking in the Crosspoint City Church lot at 325 Old Mill Rd or at Cartersville Elementary School at 340 Old Mill Rd, entering each lot from the Old Mill Road entrance only. Pre-race packet pick-up is scheduled for Friday, May 15, at Big Peach Running Co., 402 E. Church St., Suite 107. This is a rain or shine event.
