Cannonball Running Festival, Greensboro, NC
The Cannonball Running Festival takes place October 16 and 17, 2026 in Greensboro, North Carolina. Events use the A & Y greenway and Country Park, with the start and finish for all races located in Country Park.
Race offerings span several distances and challenge options:
- Marathon
- Half Marathon
- 10K
- 5K (Friday evening)
- Kids Dash
- Double Barrel Challenge combining the Friday 5K with a Saturday race
- Virtual option
The Double Barrel Challenge pairs the Friday night 5K with a Saturday distance such as the 10K, half marathon, or full marathon. Local craft breweries pour on Saturday; race registrations include two craft brews for participants aged 21 and over. Spectator beer sales support the event charity partner, Brenner Children’s.
All race participants receive a custom finisher medal; the Kids Dash receives event goodies but not a medal or shirt. Registered participants receive a long sleeved runner shirt when registered at least two weeks before the event, plus snacks and a post race meal.
