Event Overview
The Cannonball Running Festival is a two-day event in Greensboro, North Carolina. It takes place on October 16 and 17, 2026, at Country Park, with all races starting and finishing there. The courses use the A & Y greenway and Country Park.
Distances and Schedule
The following races are offered:
- Marathon (October 17, age 18+)
- Half Marathon (October 17, age 12+)
- 10K (October 17)
- 5K Run/Walk (October 16, evening)
- Kids Dash (October 17, age 15 and under)
Participants can also enter the Double Barrel Challenge, which combines the Friday 5K with a longer Saturday race (10K, half marathon, or marathon). Challenge participants receive an extra medal.
Registration and Perks
Registration includes a custom finisher's medal (except for the Kids Dash), a long-sleeved runner's shirt (if registered at least two weeks prior), a post-race meal, and snacks. For participants aged 21 and over, two craft beers from local breweries are included with registration. Spectators can purchase beer, with all beer sale proceeds benefiting the charity partner Brenner Children's Hospital.
