Event Overview
The Butterfly Run returns for its 15th annual edition in Alcoa, Tennessee. This event partners with Friends of Tennessee’s Babies with Special Needs to support infants and young children with disabilities. The races take place in the foothills of Maryville at Springbrook Park, featuring paved and accessible courses that welcome wheelchairs and strollers.

Race Details
The 3K course is USATF certified and eligible for Tennessee state records. An awards ceremony follows the event at the Springbrook Park Pavilion, where prizes are given to the top three male and female finishers across various age divisions, including masters, grandmasters, and veterans. Every participant in the 1 mile walk and all 3K runners who do not place in the top categories receive a participation medal.
Amenities and Logistics
Participants who register by mid-March are guaranteed a quality cotton-poly blend T-shirt. The event provides pre and post-race refreshments for all registered participants. For those participating in person, packet pick-up is available at a local sporting goods store in the days leading up to the race or at the Springbrook Park Gym on the morning of the event. The RaceJoy mobile application is also integrated into the experience, providing live GPS tracking and progress alerts for both in-person and virtual participants.
