The Brooklynite Fall 10K & 5K
The Brooklynite Fall 10K & 5K takes place along the New York Bay waterfront in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. The event utilizes a course centered around the American Veteran Memorial Pier, featuring a scenic route on one of the nation's historic riverfronts. The path is shared with the public and includes dedicated lanes for both cyclists and pedestrians. For safety reasons, the use of headphones is not permitted during the race.
Participants can choose between two race distances:
- 5K: A single-loop course with a u-turn approximately 1.55 miles from the start.
- 10K: A two-loop course with specific u-turn points located at 1.59 miles and 0.1 miles from the start line.
The course features mile markers and three water stations per loop, providing access to water, electrolyte drinks, and gels. The timing system uses mats at each loop to provide live splits and digital tracking. Results are uploaded in real-time to a digital platform for spectators to follow.
Amenities include technical t-shirts and finisher medals for all participants. After the race, refreshments such as bagels are provided. An awards ceremony is held for the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as for various age groups ranging from 19 and under to 70 and over. A personal items area is available for participants to store bags and coats securely during the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
