The Broken Arrow Skyrace takes place June 18-21, 2026 at Palisades Tahoe near Lake Tahoe, California. It is a four-day, multi-distance mountain running festival that includes on-site food, craft beer, music, seminars, films, and family activities. Most race routes run above the tree line and include exposed alpine terrain, rock slabs, scree, potential snow slopes, ladders, and hand lines.

- 46K - signature distance, limited field, substantial elevation

Selected specifics from 2026 plans:
- The Ascent rises about 3,100 feet in roughly 3 miles and is limited to 500 runners; age minimum generally 14.
- The 11K has about 569 m (1,840 ft) of gain and a field limit of 600; age minimum generally 14.
- The 18K features about 3,800 ft of climbing; age minimum generally 16.
- The 23K ascends more than 5,000 ft from the valley floor; field limit 1,300; age minimum generally 16.
- The 46K ascends more than 10,000 ft; field limit 800; age minimum generally 16.
- The Iron Face Challenge is technical, includes a via ferrata section, is limited to 100 participants, and requires participants to be at least 18 years old and 88 pounds.
Logistics and policies
Registration opens December 8, 2025 and online registration closes June 10, 2026. Entry is non-transferable; organizers may cancel, reroute, or reschedule for safety reasons. Partial credits and deferral options are specified for certain distances with deadlines, and some distances have no refunds or credits. Prize purses and age-group awards are planned, with cash prizes allocated for the Ascent, 23K, and 46K. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
