Braden James 5K Rainbow Run
The Braden James 5K Rainbow Run is a community 5K run/walk held on October 17, 2026 at the Trail at Bluemont Park in Arlington, Virginia. The event supports the Braden James Fund, which assists children and families affected by diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma and other pediatric brain cancers through play, advocacy, and research.
The event offers both in-person and virtual participation. Virtual participants may upload times and photos between October 17 and October 25 and may use tracks, treadmills, certified courses, or GPS apps to record distance. Personalized bibs are available for participants who register at least three weeks before the event; virtual bibs are mailed the week prior and may require 3–5 days for delivery.
Onsite amenities include water, hot chocolate, coffee, cupcakes, and donuts. Live, text, and email results are provided, and finish-line photos are available at no cost. Awards are given to the top overall male and female in the 5K, and top individual and team fundraisers receive electronic gift cards.
Parking is available in designated areas near South Bluemont but is not guaranteed and operates on a first come, first serve basis. Attendees are asked not to park on grass or block bike trails and residential driveways. Bib pickup is available on race day from event staff, with personalized pickup details provided to registrants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
