The Bracken Trail Race
The Bracken is a trail race held in Brevard, NC at 186 Pinnacle Rd. The event offers multiple looped-course distances and describes technical single-track, creek crossings, climbs and fern-lined trail sections.
Distances follow a common route with differing numbers of loops and cumulative climbing. Aid stations are placed every 7.5 miles to provide support between segments. Volunteers and a local trail community provide on-course assistance.

- 50K, 4 loops, total gain 5,693
The course is organized as repeated loops of the same route. Each distance corresponds to a set number of loops and an associated total gain figure. The event materials note rooty single-track and ridgeline climbs, and describe vegetation such as dense fern groves along parts of the route. Aid station spacing requires runners to carry supplies between stops as needed.
