The Bluebell Bimble
The Bluebell Bimble is a six mile trail race run as a self-guided loop through the Derbyshire countryside between Chesterfield and the Peak District. The route takes in the Linacre Reservoirs area and starts and finishes at Wadshelf Village Hall.
The course passes bluebell woods and waterside trails and is described as very runnable, with long flowing descents and easy forest paths. There is one tough climb near the end of the loop.
Runners receive written instructions to follow on the day; there are no GPX files and no marshals on the route. Participants are responsible for their own safety. Runners may choose their own start time and will be timed out at the start and timed back in at the finish. The event is held under UK Athletics rules.
Entry details include a reduced fee for UKA affiliated runners. Entry fees are £5 for UKA affiliated runners and £7 for unaffiliated runners. Entries open 11 February 2026 and close 24 April 2026. The minimum age to take part is 18. No dogs are permitted. Refunds will only be given if the race is cancelled. The event is organised by Peaks and Dales Guiding.
