The Blood Run
The Blood Run is a timed endurance event held at The Good Earth Farm, an organic vegetable farm located about 4 miles south of Lennox, SD, on roughly 30 acres. Runners complete repeated laps of a 1.5 mile loop that follows the border of the vegetable fields, crosses pasture and a gravel road, and includes a small creek with a bridge. The loop is mostly mowed grass and well traveled dirt with some gravel; the terrain has very little elevation change and is exposed prairie with limited shade.

On site amenities include camping for runners and crews (car, van, or RV; no hookups), a fully stocked aid station with flush toilets located on the loop, and space for crews to operate from campsites. The event is grassroots and free of corporate sponsorship. Races use a simple lap-counting system of marbles in jars; finishers keep their jar. Runners completing 100 miles in the 24 or 36 hour individual events can earn a belt buckle. Pacers are permitted. Dogs are allowed but must be leashed and supervised; heat and limited shade are considerations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
