The Frostbite Four is a mid-winter road race held in Beresford, South Dakota on February 7, 2026. The event includes the following distances:
- 4 Mile
- 2 Mile
The event location is 301 W N Maple St, Beresford, SD 57004. The race benefits the Beresford Athletic Booster Club and other community causes.
Registration and race-day logistics
Pre-registration is encouraged. Online registration closes 11:59 PM on February 6, 2026. Registrations completed by February 4, 2026 are guaranteed a shirt or sweatshirt. Race day registration is available on site in the high school gym lobby. Packet pick-up is at Beresford High School on race morning, beginning at 8:00 AM and ending 30 minutes before the race.
All participants receive chip timing. Pre-registered participants receive an A4 Dri-fit long-sleeve shirt; a hooded sweatshirt is available for an additional $5.
Course, facilities and post-race
Two marked courses are prepared for each distance; wind direction will determine which course is used. Bathroom and shower facilities are available at the high school. A post-race chili and chicken noodle soup feed for participants is provided at the Bridges at Beresford Golf Course Club House, with entertainment supported by a free will offering.
Awards
Gift card awards are provided for the overall top three male and female finishers in the 4-mile and for age-group winners. Ceramic Frostbite Four figurines are awarded to overall winners in both distances and to age-group winners in the 4-mile. Age groups run from 15 and under through 65 and over.
