The Blazing Brick
The Blazing Brick is a two-day event in Northern Colorado on July 18 and July 25 that features running and cycling options. Distances and formats include:
- 5K run and walk
- Kids run
- Century Ride 100 miles
- Metric Century 100 kilometers
The 5K and associated kids run and walk take place on a route around Loveland High School and finish with a finish line party across the street at Saint Spyridon’s Church. Registration for the 5K is a $25 tax-deductible donation that includes a Blazing Brick t-shirt. Proceeds from the 5K support Project Mexico efforts to build homes, care for children in an orphanage, and sponsor children’s school fees.
The Century Ride occurs on July 25 and offers a full century and a metric century option. Registration for century riders is a $190 tax-deductible donation that includes a custom ride jersey. The event provides a weekly Couch To Century Ride training plan for riders preparing for the distance. Proceeds from the rides support youth programs, orphan feeding, and resources for homeless families in Kenya.
Both the run and ride allow nonlocal participants to take part by tracking activity with Strava; apparel is mailed to those who submit their tracked results. The event also offers multiple sponsorship levels with logo placement, packet inclusion, and food sponsorship options. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
