The Blazing Brick
The Blazing Brick is a set of cycling and running events held in Northern Colorado that raise funds for international relief and development through IOCC. The event program includes long-distance rides and community run/walk events, with proceeds designated for work in Mexico and Kenya.
The cycling options include a full Century Ride and a Metric Century Ride. Century and Metric Century registration is a tax-deductible donation of $200, with an early bird rate of $175 before June 1. Century and Metric Century registrants receive a custom ride jersey. Remote cyclists can ride elsewhere, submit a Strava report before August 29, and have their jersey mailed.
The running and walking events include a 5K, a walk, and a kids fun run held at Loveland High School, finishing near the LHS tennis courts. 5K registration is a tax-deductible donation of $35, with a $25 early bird rate before June 1. 5K and walk registrants receive a Blazing Brick t-shirt. Remote runners and walkers can submit a Strava report before August 24 to receive their shirt by mail. The walk route uses the LHS track and allows wheelchairs.
Training materials include a Couch To Century Ride weekly plan for cyclists. The event also offers multiple sponsorship levels with specified donation amounts and logo or packet benefits. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
