Resolution Run - Fort Collins
The Resolution Run - Fort Collins celebrates its 42nd year as one of the oldest running events in the city. Held on New Year's Eve, this event features a 5K course that starts and finishes at the Edora Pool Ice Center (EPIC). The race is held after sunset, and participants are encouraged to wear bright clothing and lights, while glow sticks are provided by the organizers.
The 5K route consists of a scenic, flat, and fast loop through the Parkwood neighborhood. As a "rules of the road" run, the course remains open to local traffic on residential streets, requiring participants to obey all traffic laws and yield to vehicles. The event is designed to be family-friendly, welcoming walkers, strollers, and dogs. To ensure safety during the night run, the use of headphones or earbuds is prohibited.

Participants who complete the course in under 20 minutes and 26 seconds earn a special prize. The entry fee includes a gender-specific long-sleeve t-shirt for those registered by the December 20 deadline, a finisher memento, and hot chocolate at the finish line. Awards are presented to the top three male, female, and non-binary finishers in various age categories, as well as the oldest and youngest participants. K9 finishers also receive special treats.
