The Black Rock '5'
The Black Rock '5' is a distinctive 7km running event held annually in Kinghorn, Fife, Scotland, since 1987. Scheduled on a suitable Friday in May or June, the race uniquely combines road and beach running, timed to coincide with a low tide that allows participants to run out over the sand and behind the Black Rock, located about 1km offshore in the Firth of Forth near Burntisland. Attracting around 1,100 runners ranging from fun and charity participants to serious competitors, the race features a fast-paced course unsuitable for walkers due to the incoming tide.
Finishers over 18 receive a complimentary local beer, and a presentation ceremony follows at The Harbour View. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
Always double-check with the organizer's website – things can change, and we might have sprinted past a few details!
