The Black Rock '5' Race
The Black Rock '5' Race is an annual road and beach running event based in Kinghorn, Fife. The race has been held since 1987 and follows a route that goes out over the sand to the rocks in the Firth of Forth. It normally takes place on a suitable Friday in May or June.
The event attracts about 1,100 participants and includes a mixture of fun, charity, keep-fit and competitive runners. The organising body publishes entry forms, past results and photos, and produces an annual race t-shirt.
Information for specific editions is posted each year. The 2026 race is scheduled for 15 May. The event page also lists historical results and community information that document past races and finishers.
The course involves a tidal or foreshore section where runners cross sand toward the rock feature in the Firth of Forth. Organisers provide practical details for participants such as entry procedures and race information for each year. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
