Event
The Billing is a winter trail race organised by Great Owl Running on 14 February 2026. The race is open to adults aged 18 and over and has an entry limit of 100. The advertised distance is approximately 14 km with around 277 m of elevation. The route uses fields, trails and public footpaths and is described as a fully marked course. There are no water stations on course.
Course and logistics
The course starts and finishes at The Emmott Arms, Town St, Rawdon, Leeds LS19 6PP. The route goes up the Billing, passes through the top of Yeadon, includes a lap of the Leeds Bradford Airport perimeter fence, and returns via a second ascent of the Billing. Trail shoes are recommended. Mandatory kit includes a windproof or waterproof jacket and a personal water container because the event is cupless.
Entry, fees and facilities
Entry fees range from £18 to £35 depending on affiliation and optional extras. Optional purchases include a T-shirt and a medal, and there is an option to donate to a "Trees not Tees" planting scheme. Entry on the day may be available at an additional cost if the event has not sold out. Race facilities at the HQ include toilets, bag storage and a car park; there are no changing rooms or showers.
