Celebrate Global Running Day
The Big Run takes place in North Augusta at SRP Park - GreenJackets Stadium to celebrate Global Running Day. This community-focused event offers multiple ways to participate, including in-person competitive races and a virtual option. The event partners with The RECing Crew, a special leisure and recreation association that provides programs for individuals with disabilities.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 5K: A chip-timed, certified race starting and finishing at the stadium.
- 1 Mile Kids Fun Run: A timed out-and-back course for children aged 3 to 13.
- Virtual 5K: A remote option that can be completed at any location between June 1 and June 5.
The in-person 5K is inclusive of various participants, as dogs, strollers, and wheelchairs are permitted on the course. Those registered for the in-person 5K or the 1-Mile kids run receive a finisher medal, a race t-shirt, a custom bib, and a general admission ticket for a baseball game at the stadium. Participants also receive a complimentary beverage.
Packet pickup is organized at specific locations in Augusta and North Augusta on the day before the race and the day of the event. While registration is available during the early packet pickup window, there is no registration available on the day of the race itself. All participants have the capability to upload and view their results following the completion of their run. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
