The Big Run 5k
The Big Run 5k is a community running event at The Cove, 11808 S Northshore Dr, Knoxville, TN. The course is an out-and-back on the greenway that runs past a bridge and a newer section under Northshore Dr to a turnaround point. Finisher medals are awarded.
Distances and formats:
- 5K Fun Run (untimed, morning)
- 5K Timed Run (evening, chip-timed)
Registration pricing is tiered. Now through June 2 the untimed 5K is listed at $25 and the timed 5K at $30. Race day prices are listed higher. Packet pickup is available on June 2 at Fleet Feet Knoxville, 11619 Parkside Dr, Knoxville, and on June 3 at The Cove for the respective events.
Awards for the timed 5K include overall prizes in multiple master and age categories with Fleet Feet Knoxville gift cards for top finishers. Age-group awards are listed for male and female divisions from under 10 through 85+, with placements receiving gift-card awards.
Proceeds benefit the Knox County Parks and Rec Youth Scholarship Program, which provides financial assistance to Knox County youths for participation in county youth sports programs. Kona Ice will be available at the evening timed event; registered timed participants may receive a classic Kona Ice by presenting their bib.
