Distances

  • 5K (timed)
  • 1 Mile (untimed fun run)

Format and entry

The 5K is run on a cross-country course and is organized into three heats: Heat 1 (under 30 minutes), Heat 2 (25 minutes or over), and an Elite heat (qualifying times: men sub 18:00, women sub 20:00). Runners with 5K times between 25 and 30 minutes may choose Heat 1 or Heat 2. Entry fees listed for the events are $30 for each 5K heat and $10 for the 1 Mile. Registration for most events opens February 24, 2026; the Elite heat opens registration on April 1, 2026. Comp entries are offered to faster qualifiers (men sub 16:00, women sub 18:00) with proof of a comparable race result required.

Awards, prizes and charity

Results are based on gun/clock time; chip start times are not recorded due to the cross-country start. Heats 1 and 2 are combined for age-group awards. Age groups run from 9 and under through 80 and over. The Elite heat carries a cash prize purse of $1,400 (1st place $400 each male/female; 2nd $200 each; 3rd $100 each). A portion of proceeds will be donated to Good Works Engine, a charity that provides shoes to underprivileged communities.
