The BIG Run - Cary
The BIG Run is a free community event held at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina. It is presented as an untimed 5K fun run that coincides with Global Running Day and marks Fleet Feet's 50th anniversary and the 20th anniversary of the Raleigh/Morrisville franchise.
The course uses WakeMed Soccer Park's cross country layout and is mostly grass and dirt. The route includes sections of rough terrain in the woods and is not on pavement, so it is not very stroller friendly.
Event features described by the organizer include themed finisher "medals", a vendor expo with shoe demos, giveaways, and merchandise for sale, food and coffee trucks for pre and post run fuel, and post run yoga. Participants are asked to check in with event staff on arrival and there is a planned pre run warm up led by Black Girls RUN!. This is not an officially timed race and no official results are posted; all participants receive a "medal." Dogs are not allowed at the park or on the course.
Registration information: registration opens March 24, 2026, and closes June 13, 2026. Registration fee is listed as free. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
