The Big Mile
The Big Mile is a free, family-friendly mass participation event intended for first-time runners, families with children and people looking to get more active. The event is sold out for 2026.
It takes place on the same finishing stretch as the Big Half by the Cutty Sark in Greenwich. The organiser lists the date as Sunday 6 September 2026. The course starts on Creek Road and finishes next to the Cutty Sark. The terrain is road, described as fast and flat.
Participant provisions include event photography, timed results, BUXTON Natural Mineral Water, an optional finisher’s medal and an option to plant a tree with Trees Not Tees. On-site facilities include toilets with accessible toilets, a free festival area in Greenwich Park for celebration, a Sensory Calm Space, a Parent and Child Space for breastfeeding, pumping and entertaining young children, and a Multi Faith Prayer Space.
Partners and sponsors named by the organiser include New Balance, GETPRO, Buxton Natural Mineral Water, Lucozade, Suunto, Coopah and Enthuse. The event uses the finishing area associated with the Big Half and positions its finish adjacent to a notable Greenwich landmark, the Cutty Sark.
