About the race
The Big Mile is sold out for 2026. It is a free, family-friendly mass participation event held on the same finishing stretch as the Big Half by the Cutty Sark in Greenwich. The event is scheduled for Sunday 6 September 2026 and uses Creek Road as the start line with the finish next to the Cutty Sark.
The course runs on road and is described as fast and flat. Participants receive event photography, timed results, BUXTON Natural Mineral Water, and an optional finisher’s medal. There is also an option to plant a tree with Trees Not Tees. On-site facilities include toilets with accessible options, a Free Festival Area in Greenwich Park for post-event gathering, a Sensory Calm Space, a Parent and Child Space for breastfeeding, pumping and entertaining young children, and a Multi Faith Prayer Space. The Big Mile is presented as a short, accessible mass participation event co-located with the Big Half finish area. Sponsors and partners are listed for the event.
