Big Green Scunthorpe 10k : Central Park, Scunthorpe
The Big Green Scunthorpe 10k takes place on 16 May 2027 in Central Park, Scunthorpe. Organised by Curly's Athletes, the event is in its fifth year and has a capacity of 1200 entrants. Entry fees are shown as £24 to £26. The race is a 10 km UKA licensed road course with chip timing and fully closed roads.
The course is spectator friendly, with the start, the 3 km and 7 km points and the finish located within about 200 metres of each other. The event includes a finish village and on-course facilities such as an on-site runners bar at the 7 km mark (no stopping). Finish-line provisions for runners include a complimentary mocktail, a finish cookie supplied by The Cookie People (Triple Brownie Batter flavour in 2026), and a free pack of wildflower seeds for each runner. Event clothing options have included fully recycled T-shirts and wooden medals have been used as a lower-impact option. Prizes for the fastest male and female include a composter.
The event lists local traffic management partners and supporters, chip timing, photographers and drone coverage, water refill and reusable or bio cups at the finish, secure cycle storage and a bag drop.
